Even I'm Confused now
I am considering moving in with Xmike and Becky (A different Becky than my current roommate Becky). This would be in the old building I lived in 2 prior to my current one. I'm going to get a map of the city and some pins and plot this out. This would put me back @ the Loyola Red line stop.

Joe Strummer was bad enough...the Clash didn't have a huge personal impact on my life, but I was fond of their music, but now Herb Ritts has died. I fancied myself a photographer in my younger days, and he along with Annie Leibowitz was one of my favorites. I had the poster of Madonna's
True Blue album cover hanging up forever. Strummer and Ritts were both 50...weird.

Workers Comp!!
I was injured on the the job today! And no, it didn't involve hot coffee as most predicted...I was trying to move some crates and just managed to go flying spectacularly. The witness, my coworker, did note for the incident report that I had the proper lifting procedure as he watched it all go down. If you see me in the next week or so, ask to see the knot on my shin.

White Xmas
Met up with Xmike @ Delilah's last nite and it was snowing like a mofo! Had a few $2 Jackncokes then made our way to his place, my old place. Then went to another bar and were going to take some lamps, but they were gone when we left. Woke up this morning to Santa's bounty and were generally lazy and ate and drank all day with Garrett. Did get to see Chic-a-go-go though. Xmike's "white trash casserole" was not as bad as I feared it would be.

Happy Anniversary!!!
It was waaaaaaaaaaaay back last December 14th when samorama (then merely http://crunchpop.tripod.com) was launched. I never thought anyone but my two or three closest friends would be interested in what I have to say about me, my life and the things I love, but lo and behold...an average of 60 people a day check in. Well, they also come thru Google searches for Wilco downloads, which I don't really have. Where it now has the quote by Jeff Tweedy it used to say "Jeff Tweedy's Favorite Website (based on speculation)", which I guess is funnier, but whatever.
Thanks to everyone who makes my life more interesting and gives me shit to talk about. I wouldn't be nearly as interesting without you all in it.

Wow, the thing at second city was increadible and fun. Tweedy came out and sat in a chair about a foot away from us and played the fuck you like a millionaire song, Bob Dylan's 49th Beard, a new song about a bee and Passenger Side featuring a great guest vocal by Bill. No mics, no amps. He also told a story about his kids at dinner while the second city folks improved between the songs. He sounded great despite not sounding like he felt well from what he said. I kinda lost it during Bob Dylan's Beard. It was intensely moving. And
And there was a charity auction for Tweedy to write you a song! I wonder who won that?? ;) The winner (and his 'gang') got to go up and be in a skit about FIREMEN of all things (Dick, you so should have been there!!)
Robbie Fulks played today and tore things up with Let's Kill Saturday Night, Fuck This Town, God Isn't Real and Abba's Dancing Queen. And the comedy was all pretty damn funny to boot.

The positive thing about working @ Starbucks and having to open when you were out kinda late is you can have 8 shots of espresso in 3 hours and get WIRED.
Heading to the Second City thing which one Jeff Tweedy is reported to be a part of. Managed to convince Theresa to play hooky so she could go to. Er wait, maybe I shouldn't have publically said that.
After running around all nite purchasing raw materials for xmas gifts a Kung Pow Threesome hung at the H/O last nite. Ed showed up with Jay Bennett, but we were all a bit sleepy, and if they played, we missed it.

holy crap!
Samorama is almost at 10,000 hits! based on when all the little countery things were working anyways. And it's only been a year. Thanks for letting me whine and gripe and hopefully occasionally entertain ya'll.
Shows that you don't watch anyway
Why do shows that nobody is really a fan of, ie Caroline in the City, Suddenly Susan, and Dharma and Greg make it in to syndication when they could be showing classics everyone loved ala Punky Brewster, Perfect Strangers, Small Wonder, etc?
There just wasn't anything in Seventeen Magazine
...written to deal with the insanity my life has become. Now, I'm not complaining, because it's kind of a cool insanity, but do you just ever wake up some mornings, uh, afternoons, and go "What the Fuck was that!?" I think I need to go chill at the museums today.
and oh yeah, the Kung Pow Foursome appears to be making a field trip to San Francisco to see some band play. Details to come.

Important Substancial Update.
Snowflake making went well. there was a big yummy ham and nobody was injured. Theresa and Richard made some masterpieces that got a lot of attention.
Turns out Sooz and I's place to stay in NY has fallen thru. If anyone has any good ideas let me know.
