Extra Crispy Scoliosis Please!
Sites like these keep me entertained for hours, well, maybe like 15 minutes. Check out
Not Fooling Anybody. When I was a kid, I honestly thought they kept chicken in those giant buckets, and it was sucked out like those things at the bank drive thrus. Hey, at least I was thorough enough to think it out.

Holy Fuck, it's COLD!
brr brr brrr. me, amelia and the kitties are drinking beer in front of the fireplace. ahhhh. the cold also seems to have sapped the iPod battery and my cellphone. lameo technology that doesn't work.
have you taken the
president match quiz? I'm gonna marry Kerry! oh wait, I think it means I'm supposed to vote for him.
I guess I have to comment...
LeRoy Bach has left Wilco, his decision. He was not forced out or any crap like that. Not that it's anyone's business, of course.
Over the past few years, as long as I've been in Chicago, actually, I've gotten to know him, not as a member of a band, but as an individual. He's a really cool individual, who has shown me nothing but kindness. As much as I am gonig to miss him as a part of that band, he's still the same amazingly great guy he always was, and nothing is going to change that.
All the shit being said about LeRoy and Jeff is, of course, bugging me (not to the extent it must be bugging those involved I'm sure.) Wilco is going to go on, and continue to amaze us, and LeRoy will do his thing, and it will all be okay. As a fan and a friend all I can do is support them all.
anyhoot, some pics
here.

Guitars gone Wrong
Click above for even more "cheesy guitars".
Wow Where Do I Start?
I have been Macless for a while now. Ya'll know this started when my power cord exploded in an amazing display of white fireworks (apparantly an issue with this type of power cord). It took the Apple Store about a week to get me a new one, which at that time I made the decision to sell my dear sweet Blueberry iBook to the store I work at, and upgrade slightly to an newer older model with firewire so I could update my new old iPod I accquired.
I bid on an indigo iBook on eBay, and won. When it arrived and I opened it up, there was a post-it stating "Fire Wire Problem". I shit thee not. This was not stated in the description, and the people had oodles of glowing wonderful feedback. I tried all sortsa stuff to fix it, but alas, nothing worked. I sent it back, bid on yet another indigo iBook, which I got at the same price. Of course, the people who sold me the bogus one drug their feet on refunding my money...thus the new PBR 2.0 arrived only today.
In other news...well, it'll be out soon enough. I'll wait to comment and not be all national enquirer like.
Super Bowl Party this weekend. I'm not really a football fan, but am a fan of eating and drinking. The last superbowl party I attended I ended up nekid in a hot tub with the head of the video game department at the Toys 'R' Us I worked at. Speaking of which, I guess I'm going back to Florida for the first time since I left nearly 5 years ago pretty soon. Just waiting for my mom to move to a new pad there. Though Scott who was allegedly going to put me up is not responding to my calls yet again, after a really impassioned declaration that he would this time. Why oh why do I bother with him?
I'm on a major Cure kick lately...really excited about this B-Sides Box that came out today. I remember back in the day (cue wiggly lines and flashback music) I had my mom take me to the mall to buy the Cure's
Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me on cassette after seeing the video for "Why Can't I Be You?" video on MTV (holy shit, they used to play GOOD videos, kids). She asked me if she'd like it, and I sullenly replied "I
Hope not." I don't think I let her listen to it. I also fondly remember Mary driving me to school and listening to the cassette of
Standing on the Beach and hearing those b-sides back then. School sucked, but at least the ride there was always cool.
gods, that should keep ya'll busy for a while, no? I'll post some wacky fun links to make up for lost time.
oh yeah, this Friday I plan on partying down starting EARLY at the Hideout around 6pm.

Great show, nice to see them back after soooo many years away. It was kinda late, and Rhett was kinda drunk and forgetting of some lyrics, but Murray was right on! I can't freaking wait for the new album!! AHHHHHH!

Temporarily computerless
Waiting in eBay limbo for a new old indigo iBook, so until then, posts will be sporadic. Nothing was wrong with my old one, which now resides @ Planet of Sound, I just wanted more GB and firewire.

WoOt!!!
Everything went well at Delilah's last nite! First of all, thanks to everyone who showed up, and boo to those who didn't. A pretty good crowd remained through 2am (special thanks to Sooz, Jasmine and Mikey for staying the whole damn time!) As the nite wore on, I was BRIBED into playing pandering crowd pleasers that got everyone singing along (ie Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline) but that was okay. I even managed to sneak in "Somebody Told Me" from Strong Bad Sings (thanks Alison!).
So basically, I played the music I love for 5 hours, got free beer and whiskey, hung with my friends...AND got paid!! WTF? Life is good sometimes. Mostimes. I was invited back, so I'll keep ya'll posted about when it's happening again.
