Heck, I can hardly remember now. Oh yeah, there was Tweedy et al. in the basement, Vee Dee at the Bottle that Monday (free show!), back to the Bottle Wednesday for Doug Stanhope (with a lot of people, apparantly comedy is the unifier of all my friends)... Silver Jews at the Double Door with Lou, Paul and Kris (hello dudefest!), uh what else, am I getting this out of order? Paul? Easter Sunday with delicious food and K & A, Laura n Kristina... Calexico Monday at Tower Records (BOOOOOOOO Tower, Calexico, even with only 4 guys were beautiful.) Rachel Ries and Adam at Martyrs (also Gray, whom sadly I missed... oh yeah, I was back on track for that nite.)
Oh yeah, Josh Ritter at the Double Door last Friday. Man, I do not like the Double Door, but he was pretty amazing. I am very very sorry I waited so long to see him. So so so good! When he sang "Snow is Gone" it was just perfect! It was the first real Springy day. A surprisingly intenses show. I really need to spend more time with the new album.
Worked today, thrifting... Off Wednesday and Thursday.

yeah, there's a week or so missing here. deal. tonite Adam Fitz and Rachel Reis and Gray played at Martyrs, it was a Lincoln Sqaure talent show. Thom hated my shirt, but hey, I didn't see him play, so fuck him. I bought Adam beers, and he would kick them over. It was somewhat amazing. Nick and I then watched Huey Lewis videos. "it's hip to be sqaure" motherfuckers.

Recap - Hotel SnS fest Night One
first of all, thanks to the amazing Laura Park for the art and Steve W. for such a beautiful printing job.
So the day started with some running around and Chandler setting up the PA, furniture rearranging, last minute food buying, and soon people were knocking, or calling as it were. My worrying over poor attendance was soon forgotten when worry of Healthy White Baby showing up or not overtook.
I got a call that they were on their way, so a few drinks later I was fine, and there was rocking in my basment.
A very good number of my friends and people I didn't know showed up. Dan the Fan snuck in and passed out treats, and the "cooler" filled up pretty quickly. It was tough being a hostess, I didn't ever really sit and enjoy the music for a good amount of time, but everything sounded really awesome. Adam Fitz's Wolf Rocket debuted and was excellent.
Then Devin Davis played after some tuning and stuff in my bedroom and did a most amazing version of Rainbow Connection that made me very very happy.
I ate some of Dan's treats along the way. The nite ended up in a Pez battle in the kitchen involving Matt C., Paul, Adam, Meg... and Sooz cleaning it up in the morning.
All in all, I was shocked with the success of the evening. Thanks to everyone who came and were very generous to the musicians and thanks to the musicians who were so generous to the crowd. And thanks to Brianne who took these pictures, as I was in no state to. Warm fuzzies all around.
Next time on Samorama... Tweedy in the basement, '06 (or is it '05?)
