Kristina and I went to see Iron and Wine at Metro tonite. My friend LeRoy is playing with them, and despite being scared of them at pitchfork I decided I should check it out, as I generally trust his judgement! We grabbed a pitcher at the Gingerman and headed in there, and rustled up a great spot in the balcony...
or so i thought, I could see only periodic flashes of leroys head! this bummed me out for a bit, but then i got so into the damn songs and I forgot about all that. afterwards we searched for roast beef, but found none. got leroy home with his list, hope he makes it back to the bus on time!
at home i got some crummy news. i feel icky.

Hooray for Birthdays!
Expectations were low this year, so things weren't that bad. the celebratin' started Monday, with many people and good foods. Kris and Alison gave me some quality literature including some ST:TNG comic books! A large group headed over to the h/o for Marvin and Friends. LeRoy sang happy birthday to me! People bought me beers! Marvin was awesome! I discovered amps have wheels on the bottom!! I sang Steely Dan song with the one person besides motherfucking Becker or Fagin that I would want to sing a Steely Dan song w.! Sooz made amazing cupn cakes!
FFWD to today which also was pretty good, besides the rather incredible barrage of text messages I got from most of my ladyfriends. It was pretty intense. Oh well, Adam, Meg, Paul and I had a great time yelling over the metal at Kumas, and I missed a handful of songs from Detholz! at the Bottle, but Cooper gave me a nice "shout-out" anyways, and holy crap, the new songs fucking RULE!!
