I finally saw Patti, she really did move nearby! I was begining to wonder :P Saw Bobby Conn for FREE last week at Hideout, what an amazing free Monday! Sooooo good! And bought the new 7". Rounded up my halloween costume (big group thing) for the Detholz!/Mucca Pazza show at the Bottle. Watched some Frasier.
Whoa, what a weekend, starting on Thursday. I somehow was lucky enough to get Matt to go with me to the New Pornographers. I bogarted DeRo's table and fell in love with Dan Bejar. The subsequent dance party was simultaneous good and bad news. Extra special super thanks to Jeremy for getting us home. I think it would have been bad news to close the place. Duh. Friday Alison and Kris and I went to that rock exhibit at MCA which I thought was amazing and will be going back for more. We then got popcorn at Garrett's because Alison is quick on the African American trivia. THEN a few drinks at Chiptole next to the Chicago Theatre and Alison and I saw Andrew Bird and Bright Eyes (and Thax!).
It was a great show, the sound in there is pristine... the crowd was interesting, especially the weird yelly laughy pass outty girl next to Alison. We had a few at the Corner with Daniel and I was deader. Somehow, after working Saturday I decided I REALLY needed to see Scout Nibblet at the Bottle, and I am glad I did. I wasn't going to do anything, and am a little sad I didn't go to the Maplewood party but I was really really dead. Thax walked me home and I just wanted to crash soooo hard but Tim's kitty Dr. Doom was having some issues so I went to the emergency vet with him. Thankfully he's fine and we weren't even there long. I did nothing after work tonight, except go out for food with Sooz and Paul (Tim and I were differentiating by calling him "Broken Paul". Thankfully there are no visible physical deformities. Aww you know I love you Paul.) at Little Three Happiness.
I just want to sleep for a thousand years.
Finished three episodes of Frasier and am now listening to a Songs:Ohia show I attended the night I broke up with a guy hours later. It was a super intense solo show, and I actually feigned illness to leave work early (at the Chest) so I could see it. It was almost exactly 5 years ago. Weird!
Zelda is sleeping on my typing hand. It's awkward yet adorable.
Man I suck. I haven't updated, and cool shit was happening! Holy crap, Jay Reatard at the Note was so fucking inredible!! Tried to see Vee Dee at Mutiny with Kris, Lou and Tim, but we couldn't take it so we left early and went to the Corner. (Paul, the Vee Dee boys send their best wishes :P) Holy Shit, of Montreal was AMAZING!! Tim and I got a pretty good spot and there was a crazy light up thingy onstage, and there was tons of dancing, and the new songs sound just like old good amazing Prince! Hanging out at the Gingerman afterwards with Thax, Tim, Adam, Meg and Thom was nearly as much fun as the show. Don't tell Thom that though. Kevin Barnes LOVED his mustache. Sooz and I saw Darjeeling Limited, I thought it was great. Anything important that I'm missing? Anyone? That phone test thing I was doing is over, and I did indeed sell off my gadgets and buy an iPhone. It's hard getting used to doing functional things with a dang iPod, but I will get used to it. I am currently putting music on it, and there is a text message from Thom staring at me and I can't do anything about it! Oh well, once I am past the initial dumping on of...
