It is hard to resist his smiling face on the screen of my phone and highly inappropriate churchbell ringtone, but If I want to try and sleep before 3, I know I must. Still more Frasier.
I am on Season 6. Yikes. Got Guitar Hero for the Wii. I am pretty good on easy level, and have given up finishing the last level for now. I really wish there was a seperate Wii guitar available. jerks. In other Nintendo news, I held off replacing my broken DS lite for awhile, since Sooz was loaning me hers. I found out on Friday they were releasing some news colors, so I got the gold triforce one that comes with the new Zelda game! Hooray! The thing is SERIOUSLY gold though. If only I wanted Nintendogs I could have gotten a metallic pink one, but a real dog is enough "fun" for me. Did I mention this thing is golden and shiny? Anyhoot.
Holy crap, there is good shit this week! Thursday at Hideout is gonna ROOL (Glossary, Two Cow, Grand Champeen!!) then Detholz! at Hideout Friday! OMGz! Saturday at the Note wouldja believe Johnny and the Limelights, Busy Signals and King Kahn and BBQ Show?!?! I almost don't! Then Sunday is the Planet of Sound field trip to Trans-Siberian Orchestra HOLY CRAP!
Oh and Matt and I infiltrated a dirty shoplifter today!!

Party Captain.
That was the most intense night at the Hideout that I have ever had, perhaps more so that the Ed Burch going away weeper. I am happy to say there was no weeping. And I could have been way more wasted. And that one thing that was really awkward could have been far more awkward. Yikes.
I think the actual partying was a success though. Don't even get me started on the Monkees Medley. Holy shit.
Ugh. I am going to be ill for a while. In a not totally negative way.

I think I have opposite seasonal affective disorder; Not summer depression, but winter euphoria. I get happier when the days are shorter, and colder, and darker. I've always been more lunar-oriented though. It's the one time of the year I can listen to Joy Division. I finally saw Control. Even though I know the story (I own Deborah Curtis's book) I still was thinking Hooky would run in at the last minute and save Ian. Take that, Interpol! I think I would be pretty unhappy if the music of New Order wasn't out there somewhere though, so I suppose it all worked out the way it should have. Tim and I impulsively stopped and saw Darjeeling Limited a few hours later instead of going home. That was wise.

Melissa and Matt joined me for the Office tonite. Not my favorite episode of the season, but when you have good friends, white beer, purple bag cookies and Doritos, how can you really fuck things up?
Marathon Wii playing followed. Tim played for the first time since breaking the old TV, which was cool. Up to season 4 on Frasier. Feeling good, might make it to Metro for Lucero/BBJ tomorrow night, though my last like 3 or 4 times at Metro have been soooooo intense it kind of frightens me as to what might be in store.
You know about the Laurie's Planet of Sound party right? Heck, I have seen the poster up in all sorts of cool places around Chicago!

Went to Hot Doug's with Melissa today and took him a Buck Owens record called Hot Dog! and ate for free! Hooray! I enjoyed my Lene Lovich, and he was even playing Lene Lovich.

Nestle in my....
Last night Melissa and I saw Tori. It was good, though I have decided the sound at the Auditorium Theatre SUCKS. I knew a pretty good amount of the songs, and the new ones were decent. Beers at Club Foot afterwards. Tonight I reluctantly went to Ronny's for Coathangers and Cococoma. I didn't hate Coathangers live as much as I hate the album. Maybe it's a grower. Please, Coathangers, don't google my blog. Had a rollicking good time though. Absolutely rollicking. After working the same shift with Melissa for 4 days in a row, I don't know how I am going to survive without her tomorrow. Two days off in a row, hooray!

Log Lady, Cornflake Girl
OMGz, Halloween was so much fun! The Twin Peaks gang looked AWESOME, hopefully I will get somebody's pics up here soon. It was also Thax's 50th birthday! Detholz! were amazing as ever, and it was all because of the power of you! Somehow Bria, Tim and I made it to Delilah's for Johnny and the Limelites (no sign of Johnny as ususal) and even made it back home.
Tonite (Monday nite) Melissa and I are going to see Tori Amos! Yay estrogen!
Don't forget about the Laurie's anniversary party on November 17!
